The International Filmworkshop Budapest 2009 was held with the participation of Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian students independent moviemakers, our purpose was to get to know traditions and teaching methods of the foreign schools, and vocational trainings, and to create the terms of the longer cooperation. Our supporter was the organization of International Visegrad Fund, this application source provided 50% of the events budget. The organizor of the Filmworkshop was the House on the Field Non-Profit Cultural Society (Ház a Réten Közhasznú Kultúrális Egyesület). During the transaction we got help from the Aranytíz Culture Centre, the Budavár Culture House, and the Hungarian Culture Institute. The groups had a chance to meet students of Finnish art-school, and they got the opportunity to cooperate with them as well.
From Poland, from the city of Poznan we hosted an independent movie-maker delegation of Kamereon Media Ltd., students came from Czech Republic, from Brno, Luzanky Leisure Centre – Studio Lavka, and from Slovakia, from Mphilms Civil Association a group of university students were present. Hungary was represented by the vocaional training members of House on the Field Non Profit Sociecty. The schedule of the week was constucted to make the delegations work together on the task, which was: make together short movies with the title Budapest Anzix or Budapest-Visegrad Road Movie. They had to work in more groups, possibly every nation had to be represented in each group. A theoretical education was held to help the students compliting the tasks, such as lighting and directing knowledge, and camerausing studiopractice. We organized a trip to the Mathias King Museum of Visegrad, where we viewed the famous hall, where the Visegrad countries signed the cooperation contract. We made a documentary movie, where the participants could tell how they see the cooperation of these countries nowadays, what they think about the usefulness of it, how they wish to see the cooperation in the future. The conference at the end was an important part of the project, where the leaders of the delegations took part. In this conference we got acquainted deeper with with the different forms of our institutions, it’s financing terms, education projects, and the methods of international cooperation. This event of the program offered the opportunity for the leaders to formulate their will for further cooperation, and to orgainze more projects together. We agreed to organize the International Filmworkshop 2009 event as sequence of this project, with our partners participation. On the day of the conference we held a public filmclub, where could be seen a movie selection made by the foreign students and we have also presented some movies from the earlier Filmworkshops . The groups cooperation was productive, four high-standard production provided the success of the screening on the 5th of December, a DVD was made from these movies. The screening was open to the public, it gave us much pleasure that many people were intrested in the Filmworkshop’s productions. The International Filmworkshop Budapest 2009. event has proved, that the cooperation between the Visegrad Countries serves a real intent, namely it gives the opportunity to the partner societies to organize and transact common events with the Visegrad idea.
